What is the Global Aquatic Resource Management Network?

G.A.R.M.N. (GARMN, Inc.) is a Miami-based Florida not-for-profit corporation that funds reef cleanups and ocean conservation and teaches hands-on STEM to Miami-Dade students through its Magic programs. Its flagship, Magic Adventures, raises money to send veterans and students to on-water events run by the marine organizations it supports.

Can I deduct my contribution?

G.A.R.M.N. has not yet received IRS recognition and makes no representation about the deductibility of contributions. Once founding commitments reach $50,000 we intend to file for IRS recognition within 30 days, and we'll tell every founding member the moment our status changes.

Question 3

Where does my money go?

To our own programs — chiefly Magic Adventures, which pays registration, transportation, gear, and mentors so veterans and students can take part in featured events, and Save Our Reef cleanups. We report what was raised and where it went. Contributions are not passed through to other organizations.

What is a Navigator?

A Navigator is our ambassador for one lane of the mission — reef and healthy water, students, veterans, healthy people, business and technology, or capital and philanthropy. Navigators get a personal fundraising page, a voice at events, and our marketing behind them.

What is an Anchor Partner?

A company or sponsor that helps anchor the launch: sponsoring a Magic Adventure, matching gifts during the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, mentoring students through the Magic School Box, or hiring from the program. Anchor Partners get visibility at the launch, a matching-gift moment, and a talent pipeline.

Are the nonprofits on this page your partners?

They are organizations we admire and support — featured nonprofits. We promote their public events for free and send veterans and students to take part. We don't claim partnership, endorsement, or affiliation, and we obtain written permission before using any organization's name or logo in advertising.

What are G.A.R.M.N. Points?

G.A.R.M.N. Points is a planned loyalty program (Coming Soon). Points cannot be earned or redeemed today and have no cash value. When it launches, students will earn recognition through the programs and supporters will be told the terms first.
